    Halo -US or PAL?

I read somewhere that a NTSC Halo for Xbox has a higher refresh rate, than a PAL copy. Does this mean there's a noticable difference when playing or does it have nothing to do with a visible framerate?

I'm not sure if I should buy a UK or NTSC version.

If you can play NTSC games on your Xbox then I'd definitely get the US version.

I've got the UK version, and if you watch the demos before starting a game, it appears much faster - obviously video recorded from the NTSC version

Definitely going to import Halo 2 for this reason, it didn't ruin Halo for me at all, but I do think it would be improved if it were running at the proper speed.

There was news on eurogamer a while back saying the NTSC and PAL versions of Halo 2 should be the same speed. Although that isn't 100%.

I would go with the NTSC version as having both versions I only play the NTSC unless on XBC and with the NTSC copy being something like 20%? (not completely sure) faster and it runs the ingame movies alot more smoothly, also during multiplayer the weapons respawn quicker.

PAL Halo is only crap if you run it with PAL60 on. PAL50 is fine.

But if you've got the choice, go for the NTSC version, optimised 60Hz wins everytime.

It has a jerky framerate in PAL60 mode, but it runs slower than the NTSC one in PAL50.

PAL Halo doesn't support 60Hz mode. If you try to play it with your Xbox switched to PAL 60 YES then it will trigger a jerky mess because of a rendering bug in PAL copies of Halo. You must switch your PAL Halo to PAL 60 NO in order to play it in optimised mode. This mode gives you less jaggies than the NTSC version of Halo, because it runs at higher resolution.
