Connecting to Xbox Live

I'm assuming I just need a bog standard ethernet cable to attach from my router, to the Xbox, right? Is there any way that I can send programs etc to the Xbox from my computer with this same method? Or do I have to purchase a crossover cable separately?

Thats right, Cat5 cabling you will need. You can send files if your Xbox is modded, through FTP (most dashboards come with a FTP server so you can upload/download files). That is if your Xbox and PC are on the same network (which I assume they are )
