    Videogames+ & Canadian Games Question

    Hi all,

I know this has been discussed before, but having searched I couldn't find the answer to my question.

I was wondering is there some general rule to know which games will have dual English/French text covers etc, or is it just very hit or miss as to which games have this?

I'm looking to order a few games from VG+ as the prices for new releases (and shipping) are just too good to be true, but I'd rather they didn't have French on the covers (I know it makes no difference it's just a collection thing ).

I'm looking to order (all on XBOX)

    Breakdown
    Riddick
    Psi-Ops
    Full Spectrum Warrior

If anyone has ordered any of these titles from there could they let me know the details of the covers etc.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

I think it's mostly Gamecube games that have French on the cover. If i remember rightly most Xbox games just come with an extra french instruction manual.

I could be totally wrong though

      Really?

I hope that's right because that would be great! I could live with an extra instruction manual (which I could just throw away)

I didn't think that it was just Gamecube games - I have had a couple from VG+ and they had dual language covers, I just assumed it was the same for all formats!

      Thanks for the info.

Anyone else have any info for the pool?

      Cheers

      Dave

It is mostly Nintendo games that have them in Canada for Gamecube. But I do wish they have reversible sleeve one can be english and other side can be french. Not both in same side

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but it didn't feel like we ever got a definitive answer. I've looked through a ton of related threads, and I still couldn't find the answer to some of my questions. So far I've concluded that Xbox, GameCube and GBA (or everything Nintendo) have Canadian versions of the games, but what about the other consoles like PS2? And how can you make sure that you have the Canadian version (if there's no French on the covers or in the manual)?

Not GBA. I've ordered several Nintendo own games from VG+ on it and they've all been English only.

As for the Cube, I know Nintendo and Capcom do dual language, but not sure about anyone else.

Just to back up what g-funk said XBOX games, whilst not having any French on the cover have a seperate manual inside the case which is all in French.

I say that like they all to but to be honest I only have 1 title which is Riddick so I could be wrong but clearly some do

So besides from the extra manual, are the Canadian Xbox versions identical?

I got Halo 2 LE (obviously for xbox) from DVDSoon and its ENTIRELY in French. It's not even dual language - totally in French.

Just had Mario 64 DS arrive in the post from Videogamesplus.ca and that has dual language covers.

I got Mario Golf from VG+ and there is no sign of french(which is always good).

                      Was only ?13 too.

Seems to be random...some PS2 stuff does have french on it (Drakengard and FFX2 if I remember rightly from vgplus orders).

Lots Cube games...but not all...Metorid Echoes did for instance but PoP:WW and Tales of Symphonia didn't....thought it was all Nintendo own branch stuff but then Custom Robo blew that theory.

                        Its order and hope methinks...
