    NTL offering 1.5 mb Braodband.

    Lo all

    Wasnt sure where to post this, so here seemed fairly logical.

    Anyway..i got a letter this morning from our friends at NTL.. apparently offering 1.5 mb broadband in the second half of the summer.
    It said that 1.5 would be the new high level access, and that they would be giving me a ring in a few weeks to replace my set top box.
    The letter also confirmed that the standard 1.mb price would still apply ?34.99

    Seems like a pretty good deal tbh, although i'm wondering if the measly upload will remain the same..:/
    Another factor to consider would be wether swapping my set top box would mean that the capping system would apply, at the moment there are no caps on my service.

    So anyone else get a letter? i would have thought every 1.mb user would get 1

    Haven't they done this yet? NTL, BY and TW announced it ages ago.

            I heard that in order to stay competitive Ntl are doubling all their broadband speeds but keeping the price the same...so at the mo I've got 150kp for ?17 but soon it'll be 300kp for ?17, which i'm quite happy about...

                they have not increased the speeds yet koenshaku, it is supposed to be done late summer.
                the new speeds will be-
                150k=300k
                600k=750k
                1mb=1.5mb

                  Is this just happening for cable, or ADSL as well?

                      just cable, ntl are only doing it as telewest said they are, so ntl did it so as not to be left behind.
                      adsl could do it but it's up to the companys
