VG+ are based in canada, but they dispatch your order before you've even submitted it (exageration) - but I've had things dispatched within an hour from them. One of our affiliates if that helps. Good comms too. If you order from them, tell them we sent you.

Thanks again Charlesr! -Ive just checked them out and it seems most of their new/pre-order games work out at $75 canadian - about 30 quid at the mo. - thats really good.

      Must...resist....using...visa....again.....

Oh - what the hell - not like it's REAL money is it?

Only buy a modded RGB lead if you want RGB from your NTSC cube.

The quality difference between an official Nintendo RGB cable and a modded lead is negligable. So much so that I can't say I can tell the difference. I've got a NTSC cube and PAL cube and keep the JPN cube packed away with my Saurian modded lead and just use Freeloader and the PAL cube with the official RGB lead.

Oooh, and Zelda:TWW is an excellent game to demonstrate the virtues of the different connection methods. I used it to show my sister just how crap composite is, how bright and defined RGB is and then prog.scan ... wah!!!

I always get funny responses when I show the difference to my friends, switching RGB on/off. The first answer I get when composite is activated is: "It doesn't look that bad on my tv, it looks like the other". Of course, with the standard composite cable included with the console ...

And don't get me started on DVD players, with so many people connecting them with fully wired scart cables, and then having rgb disabled on the dvd setup.

Superkully - about 80% of my cube games are US ntsc so i think the modded rgb will be a good investment - much more convenient for me than a freeloader

When I bought my new tele recently the guy in the Sony centres attitude toward me transformed from aloof disdain (well,I was looking a little dishevelled) to something reminiscient of a hawk circling it's prey when I mentioned I was interested in plasma and gave him a saucy flash of my gold visa.I think it's for that reason more than any other I ended up coming home with a regular Sony Wega 100hz .So Prog scan remains an unknown quantity for me.I figure I'll hang on a couple of years until the next incarnation of the cube etc until I take the plunge into the unknown and horrifically overpriced seas of plasma chicanery - actually,Id like to go with a projector but I'm apprehensive as to whether playing videogames on it ,and nothing else (Im not hooked up to either analogue or digital tele - never watched it ) could cause problems dunno.

BTW Superkully - or anyone - am I correct in assuming that the modded RGB cable will work ok through an rgb scart block (dont have one yet but Ill need one very soon or Im going to knacker the RGB terminals)

Yes it will work fine with a scart splitter.
Use that splitter everybody mentions from Argos.

What bowser said. Also, don't scrimp on the SCART to SCART lead, it does make a difference.

I mentioned to a friend today that I was looking for a really high quality rgb scart for my PS2 to replace my 'monster' S-video one, which,at the time at least, I thought was damn expensive - and a bloody nuisance I may add with about 5 bloody feet of unnecessary cable - and he gave me a link to 'Taipan' - well,I think it's altered my veiw somewhat of what exactly 'expensive' means - Ps2 rgb cables cost 120 quid!! - and thats the cheapest - they go all the way up to TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY !!! - for a bloody cable!.

                    Has the world gone mad?!

Im starting to come over all nostalgic for my snes my good 'ole 22" Hitachi and my RF cable - ahhhh - happy days.....
