More to the point, is your attic strong enough to support it?

Leave it in the box, and it will be fine. I have numerous consoles in my warm loft, havent had any problems so far.

Storing consoles in the loft is the worst thing you can do. Well, burying them in the garden is worse, but... hey.

It's up to you, but if the weather warms up again it's going to get roasting in the loft, so watch for that.

Loft are generally bad for this kind of thing becuase they are damp, not bery stable tempreture wise and mice, rats and burglars (if you love in a Victorian terrace like mine with no bloody walls up there) can get at your stuff.
