    Road Rage 3 = Intial D?

Saw this in Tesco this evening. Looked damn same as Initial D (although never played the game).

Is it Intial D? Has anyone played it?

There was no price on it and I was with my bird, so I left it. But the website says the RRP is ?8.99 so I'll pick it up tomorrow morning and give it a whizz

That is, actually, the PSone version of Initial D. It's... not very good . True, the drifting is more like what it would actually be like than in later games (eg. you constantly just spin out) but it's pretty ropey and uninspired.

Cheers, you've saved me a few pounds.

Looking at those screenshots again... ugh.. yes PSX V-Rally springs to mind.

Why in the name of sanity would anyone want to pretend it *wasn't* ID?? How much more credibility can "Road Rage 3" possibly have??

Its not the PSone version of Initial D, It looks like a Japanese PS2 game called Touge Max 3.

For the same reason PS2 Shikigami No Shiro is called Mobile Light Force 2 in the UK?

Yeah, but Shikigami No Shiro is very much a Japanese title in every sense. Initial D is not only an English-language title (in a literal sense), it's obviously affiliated with the anime series/ mangas - how can the game disassociate itself with them by changing the title??

If indeed, this *is* the PS1 ID... I've played it and this game doesn't look quite as bad as that.
