Xbox RGB lead causing green screen

I've just got an RGB cable, plugged it into my (modded) UK Xbox and the screen is now a luminous green.

How do I get rid of this?

This is completely unhelpful but I recently got an Official Xbox RGB cable for my (xecuter modded PAL) Xbox and Ive seen nothing like that,do you have a switch to turn it off and see whether it makes a difference?Presumambly it's going into the RGB terminal blah blah.Im sure someone will come along soon who can help you - good luck

Dodgy cable or if you have the ARGOS SCART block, make sure the A-B B-C mixer button are _both_ up.

Have you turned RGB on, on the dashboard..
I dunno if that does anything (just a guess)

my official one didnt exactly the same, mine if i wiggled it near the first round box bit on the cable (going away from xbox) and moved it away from the powercable it would work fine new cable fixed the problem

Using an Argos splitter, unpressed those two buttons, still green. How do I turn on RGB on the dash? Also it is in RGB mode as I unpressed RGB on the splitter and the picture quality reduced as it does with all RGB devices when I do this (obviously), but still green.

              You still have'nt sorted it?

As far as I know there is no option to 'turn on' RGB - if your using an RGB cable I'tl be automatic.I did'nt realise you were using a splitter - they're a mystery to me.You need to narrow it down a bit - have you plugged directly into the tv's RGB terminal? That would determine if it is the splitter at fault. If still green then you would need to try another cable to see if it's the cable to blame.I think the least likely candidate would be the xbox itself (modded or otherwise) - Im sure it's something trivial.Hope you figure it out

Have you turned the RGB switch to on on the Scart splitter block? Either that or you need to push the cable really hard into your telly could have come loose. Or maybe your Scart socket on the telly is knackered. Happened to me once with too much unplugging. Had to lodge a book under the plug to position it at the right angle in the telly.

Ok got a new lead, now the games work in RGB fine-yet all menus of the (modded) Xbox have a big green tinge to them, only solved by unpressing the RGB button on the switcher, and putting it on again when I play games (which if the only solution, I will forget)

And if you plug it straight into the TV without using the switcher? Do you still get the green tinge on menus?

Just tried it, and yes still get green tinge when plugging straight into TV. And this certainly doesn't happen with any other device with an RGB cable. Is there an option somewhere to enable RGB for the menus then or not? I don't understand why switching it on for games is fine, but the menus and everything else are green.

Hang on... games are fine but the menus have a green tinge? That must be because the menus _do_ have a green tinge!

I'm not stupid! It's not a tinge-the main dashboard menu is completely green. And I've found out that when I select a dashboard and from then on, with games and DVDs, they're all fine. It turns out just the dashboard selector menus and config/settings menus of the xenium Xbox are green with RGB on (and normal blue colour if RGB is off).

RGB works fine for N64 (and other) games too-makes me wonder why I spent so much buying and modding a US N64!
