Does the blue GBAsp look tacky?

    Ho there!

Ok, my brother has a nice shiny platinum GameBoy and my friend has the sleek black number, so I don't have much choice as to what colour I get to choose tomorrrow. We want to avoid confusion see?

Is the blue sp just the same colour as the crap-looking blue GB pocket or does it have a quasi-metallic finish applied to it? All the internet pics I've seen seem to indicate the former is the case, so this is a shout out to all the blue sp owning heads out there... are you happy!?!

I don't own one (Black being my thing), but I can assure you that the blue model it has a nice metallic finish like the other two. Looks rather good.

The problem is, in my eyes, its not blue, its purple. Its like the photos you see of blue gamecubes. They look great on ign etc but see them in person and they are actually purple.

If you want a different color, why not import the pokemon spice gba sp?

No offence mate, but i think you need your eyes testing.

The Blue SP (which is lovely BTW Olitron - IMO the best of the current bunch ) is definitely blue. Its nothing at all like the indigo GCs but is a 100% metallic blue)

          Blue SP for me too.

It was no contest after seeing this and the Silver one side-by-side.

The Silver GBA SP has a slightly brighter screen than the other two. We got one of each colour all with Sonic Advance 2, turned them all on at the same time. Each different colour GBA SP has a slightly different brightness. The darkest screen is the black, then Blue then Silver. Still all look good anyway. I think it might be something to do with the colour of the casing being darker which then in turn makes the screen look very slightly different.

Hmm, interesting. I think you're right about it being just an optical illusion though. Right well cheers guys, blue it is...

As mentioned above, the blue sp is deffinetly blue. I've got platium and wished i bought a blue one instead, not just because it looks better but because i'm not all that impressed with the finish on the platium. On mine the finish isnt consistent through out with what seems to be some dust trap underneath the paint.

I might have seen it under a false light then, as the 'blue' gba I saw in GAME was more purple, and certainly not the deep blue Ive seen on websites.

I think the blue and black gba's look cheap anyway, so I dont really care in the slightest.

Blue is the new Black, silver looks tacky in comparison, (and it's so common). But who really cares as long as it plays the games.

Why don't you get a gamepark instead?

I've got a feeling he's probably made his choice by now

I thought about a blue SP but it would have clashed with my car ...
