    SNES scart lead question

Can I use a RGB GameCube lead on a Pal SNES?

    #2
Yes the Super Nintendo makes an excellent holder for the Gamecube RGB lead.

Otherwise you will need to remove the 3 caps from board, and solder a wire in it's place (or wire the leads to pins 9,13 and 17).

Well, I've tried my GameCube RGB and it works fine. It's so much sharper than component, now I just need a NTSC machine so I can get rid of those bloody borders...

Did you remove the capacitors first?

The picture will be too dull otherwise.

            sharp, but dull.

Looks fine to me, and besides my TV is really weird. On certain consoles (GameCube and Saturn) I get a sharper picture via S-Video than I do with RGB?????

I've tried the Gamecube RGB lead on the PAL SNES, and all I got was a sub-par composite like picture.

Some TVs have crap RGB handling and excellent S-Video decoding... Can be depressing when you see an RGB picture looking washed out... :/

Different revisions of the SNES and SFC have slightly tweaked RGB output levels and I found that I needed to remove caps from some leads to have them work on a SFC and needed a lead with caps to get it to work on the SNES... ^_^; (Although this was like 1 SFC out of 6 and 1 SNES out of 15)...

I assumed that you already tried said lead on the machine too, hence the removal of caps...
