Is Nintendo of Japan still making RGB Friendly Cubes?

There was a news article a few months ago that said something about them changing the Cube to make it cheaper to manufacture, and that this would result in there being no way to pull RGB from a Japanese console on the new models.

Can I still get one of the old type (brand new)?

Looking at the Gamecube site the pictures indicate its still there, hope it is cos i'm about to order a Spice Cube
