    Famicom Mini Collection question

Just got my FAmicom SP in with the 1st ten games this morn. One thing I did notice is that Pacman (NO. 6) has " 2 " on the top left and Xevious and MAppy have 3 &4 on the top left corner.

What is the reason for this as its mystifying me due to each games number in the series.

    anyone know*coughs* importaku *coughs*

they are all namco games in the first 10, the rest are nintendo

dont know why they start at 02 though

    **edit**

dig dug is number 16 and it has a number of 6 on it so i guess it must be something to do with namco

Namco's own release numbering system for the Famicom when they came out. So Pacman was their second release for the system. I actually don't know what #1 was. #7 for the record is Tower of Druaga (courtesy of the bonus disc you got in Japan for pre-ordering Baten Kaitos).

ah, Im surprised Nintendo would release the collection with Namco's numbering system on the boxes.

Saying that if they realised an edited version then it wouldnt be original would it.

        It is slightly confusing though.

cheers for clearing that up guys

          Namco Famicom numbering...

          Number 01 is Galaxian
          Number 02 is Pacman
          Number 03 is Xevious
          Number 04 is Mappy
          Number 05 is Galaga
          Number 06 is Digdug
Number 07 is Tower of Druaga
          Number 08 is Warpman

          I'll stop there.

          Nah, no I won't..

          09 - Battle City
          10 - Pacland
          11 - Burger Time
          12 - Star Luster
Macross should be number 13, but it isn't numbered at all...
          13 - Pro-Wrestling
          14 - Dig Dug II
          15 - Super Chinese
          16 - Babel no Tou
          17 - Valkyrie no Bouken
          18 - Sky Kid
Then the numbering is dropped with Super Xevious, the first game that is not in a cardboard box but in a plastic boxes.

Some of these games I can't see being converted, Pacland for example was rubbish but Burger Time (if they can pick up the licence) would be good.

          Taito also had numbering too...

Listed all the numbered Namco games... Not sure why they stopped but they released 84 Famicom games (excluding re-releases)... If anyone is interested in a full list then you know my number.
