Price cuts on premodded consoles, and Initial D question...

Hello All,

As of tomorrow there will be a couple of price cuts for premodded consoles on my site, as follows:

Premodded Black PAL PS2, new, fitted with Matrilx MXL2 - ?185 (down from ?200)

Premodded Black PAL Xbox, fitted with Xecuter 2.3 Lite (or Aladdin Advance for those who don't like the look of an external switch unit) - ?185 (down from ?195)


Also, quick question about Initial D - Special Stage... excuse my ignorance, but is there ever going to be an english language version coming out? Or has one already?

With the anime already doin the roundsin the US. An english lang one 'could' pop up, if the series is successful enough.

But at the mo the jap one is the only one available.

There is an asian version as opposed to the Japanese one doing the rounds - but I don't know if it has english options?

I've just nabbed myself a copy of Initial D from eBay Not the budget 'Best of' one mind but the original.

Damn... not a huge fan of driving games unless they are really outstandingly good, but I've been playing the JPN PS2 version like there's no tomorrow and am totally, utterly addicted even though so much of it is behind a language barrier as it were.

Sega, I laugh back at you - what a wasted opportunity! Pretty much everyone I know would kill for an English language version

Highly competitive too....... I was in town a couple of months back where I had heard there was an Initial D cab and and soon as I got near it this guy jumped on it.

The guy totally pawned the first couple of tracks with me watching. All his mates were like "Huh" with a smug look on thier face.

I did not take up the challenge of course as I think he would have sold me to a 3rd world country afetr it.

I picked up the budget rerelease the other week ($24 from Tronix) and I must say it is awesome. TBH the lack of English is only a barrier if you are to follow the cutscenes, navigating the menus is no problem.

BTW does anyone else like the soundtrack? It's so cheesy and in a way so crap and yet I'm loving it. It definitely adds something to the package as a whole.

I like the soundtrack. Some tracks though are best suited to DDR though IMO

Initial D is a fantastic game!

Music is quality (now my HDD strains at all the Super Eurobeat that lives on it!), Gameplay is awesome too!

Initial D is the game that made me buy my Ceramic White Japanese PS2!

I'd love an English language version too, whilst I get the general gist of what's going on from watching the cartoon I'd love to be able to fully understand it. I would never get rid of my Japanese version though as I know any western version will have the music changed for some rubbish I expect!

Slightly O/T:

Anyone know where I can get a cheap copy of the original version of the game on PS2? I have the best one, but would like one of the original release versions!
