    Xbox live ICS trouble

I've been trying to set up Xbox Live through ICS but it's not working. I can set up a network between the Xbox and my PC but when i try and connect to Live it says:
No DNS Server addreses were recieved from the DHCP or PPPoE server. Enter the DNS Server(s) provided by your ISP in the Network Settings Menu.

    Thanks in Advanced

Put the gateway of the Xbox as the PC IP?

Open a command line interface (use Run.... and type cmd)

        Type:

        ipconfig /all

and look for the IP Address for your ethernet adapter.

Do i set up the ICS through the network adaptor or through the internet saying go through the Network Adaptor.

I assume you have 2 NICS.
Connect the Xbox to one of them.
Have the net connection coming thru the other.
Enable ICS on the NIC that has the net connection coming thru it.
Find out your ISP's DNS settings, put that in the Xbox dash settings.
Then as a secondary DNS, enter your PC's IP since it's now a gateway.
            Should work

The DNS details will be on your ISP's site.
What was exactly do you have the modem connected?

Just put in the DNS number and it's now saying Network Services (DHCO or PPPoE) were not found.

Turn them off in the Xbox Live settings.
You don't need them for ICS.

                          Strange.
How are your DHCO and PPPoE settings managed anyway?
I'm not too familiar with these converters for USB modems for use on NICs.

It's not a convertor to turn a USB modem into a NIC one. It just creates a new NIC port using the USB port.

I filled in some details to see if that would work and now it's saying:
The network gateway could not be reached. Verify the IP Addresses the settings by your ISP.

                            Any ideas.

                              k

The nic that your PC connects to should be 192.168.0.1
                              subnet mask 255.255.255.0
                              gateway can be left blank
(change these settings in network connections. They're in the TCP/IP section)

Be sure ICS is enbaled on the INCOMING connection

Your Xbox IP should be 192.160.0.2
                              subnet mask 255.255.255.0
gateway is the PC's NIC address 192.168.0.1

Fill in your ISP DNS details
For example I'm on PIPEX, so my DNS is 158.43.240.4
As far as I can tell. BT's is 213.120.62.97

                              Set PPPoE config to off

in advanced I put in the host name for the computer.
This is just your computer name. You'll find this in system info.

Hope that helps, I have to go to work now, tara!
