PS2 network adaptor question

I have just aquired a Japanese PS2 (a funky Aqua model ) and I am wondering if I will need to purchase a japanese network adaptor, as I am led to believe that the jap model PS2 has a different expansion port than western models.

I think only the first revision of PS-2s had this issue. Although I wonder if Sony are making coloured network adaptors.

yeah i think it was the first model ps2 that had an external hard drive/ na. if your ps2 has the expansion bay then any will work as there region free its just the setup disc that will be region specific
