Games that 'show off' surround sound??

Sorry for the 'show off' part in the title, couldnt think of any other way of putting it.

Ive just invested in a basic surround sound kit:
    - Eltax 6.1 AV Reciever
    - Yamaha 5.1 speaker kit
    - Cambridge Audio Wiring

i have my GC, Xbox and PS2 set up with it, xbox and ps2 using optical and gc using analog.

Now to the question in hand, what games would u say utilize surround sound the best?, having only just finshed wiring everything up neatly im intrested to know which games do as im looking to buy some more games...plus i might actually have some of them.

Is this your first taste of Surround sound? The step up is amazing. Really is.

Halo stands out for me, hearing your marines coming up behind you shouting at each other is a pretty sweet experiance.

Also, good move with the Yamahas. They do top sound.

Other games, hmmm. Zelda and Metroid Prime sound pretty awesome in PL2 aswell. Give those a bash.

Chuck a grenade on grass/dirt/beach in Halo, let it explode, then run into the aftermath of explosion.

You should hear all the dirt and stuff rain down around you. It's cool.

      Nice set-up.

Burnout 2 on XBox has amazing DD5.1
Rogue Leader/Squadron on GC uses DPL2 very well - especially the X-Wing sections.
Rallisport 2 on XBox is also nifty.

            IIRC, Rainbow Six3 is good.

Oh, and not forgetting PGR2, so you can effectively block cars without having to look behind you

Metroid Prime Can I recommend Pikmin 2? F-Zero GX is great too, those boost sounds from the other cars are wicked when you hear them from behind/alongside then pass you, "cracking" the air around them... jump in the little Samurai kids car and it sounds like a shot gun! Hmm, what else? Loads really!

Steel Battalion is recommended to excercise your system too, just so you don't think I'm a GC fanboy Turn your bass up, it'll feel like your house is walking around as you trundle along

Everything will sound good through that setup though

                  edit:

Try Eternal Darkness on the GC
Oh God, yea! ED is one of the best sounding games on the system; great music, cracking sound effects.

I posted about this a while ago but the sound test in Rogue Squadron - which features a Tie Fighter flying in circles around you - seems to send the sound in the opposite direction from the picture.

Would appreciate somebody checking that out because my connections are definitely right...

Nope, the sound follows the TIE for me; are you SURE you've got the left and right outputs of the Cube correct?

mid, I'm as positive as I can be, unless the game is playing some kind of Jedi mind-trick on me, lol.

I'm moving house in a couple of weeks, setting it all up again will be the proof I reckon. But I'm convinced there's something odd about the sound test, especially as rjpageuk got the same thing...

Conkers Bad Fur Day has some pretty impressive surround stereo. I love letting him stand still until he drinks a can and then throws the empty tin away to the left or the right.

That's probably the only time I've really been impressed with stereo. The N64 was great with sound tbh.
