    Onimusha 3 - Menu Translation?

Hey guys. I got Onimusha 3 though the post today. But, I need some help with the menus. I just fired up option one and started the game. But what are the other 3 menus at the beginning?

Also, could anyone give me a brief rundown of the in game controls, and the start menu? What's all that about?

    Cheers dudes, appreciate it.

Aha, I think i've got the Start menu now. Only question, how do you upgrade your swords? I've also found some arrows, but I don't think I have a bow to fire them.

I forget things so quickly, but you can upgrade your sword by collecting (red I think) orbs and going to your menu screens weapon page. The idea is to level up your swords by collecting enough souls. I think again in your weapon page, there is the option to select a bow as a secondary weapon. Might be wrong on that, as Im at work right now with no ps2 unfortunatly.

The only tricky bit to work out is the challenges, the idea is that you need to perform a specific task X number of times, like block an enemy challenge for example. Knowing what to do is awkward if you cant understand Japanese.

To upgrade your sword you have to find the magic mirrors (save points). Middle option I think.

That's the one. The second mirror does the upgrading. Though i'm not far and i've just lost my magic swords, so I can only upgrade my armour and soul sucker thing at the moment.

The third option is like some form of deathmatch with constant resporning enemies.

Anybody know about the menus when you turn the game on? Like the options.

          Thanks for the help.

The third option at the magic mirrors is Training Mode. You have to pass certain tests to be give you extra moves or allow upgrades.

Not sure what the other menus are as yet.

Oh i see. So to get new moves you have to do what marcus said, and like block a certain amount of times. Etc.

That would explain the 15 in the middle of the screen. I assume it goes down everytime you complete it.

I think i'll have a big session on this tonight now.

                  Well, I am stuck.

I've just got the double swords, that army girl just got pwn3d. And i've picked up a key. I may have a key, but I still can't open these two locked doors. One all the way back at the subway, and one at the top of the staircase. Any ideas dude?

Hmmm I think the key you get opens the door into Arc de Triumphe (opposite where the girl is unconcious) - you need to get up to the top of it to confront Gildendesh (I think thats his name).

If you kill all the monsters in the stairway going up to the top I think you can open the door...
