Could a External USB Graphics Card happen ?

I have a laptop with onboard graphics card, not a dedicated 3D/Gaming one it must be said, older games run fine but newer ones are a no-no.

With things like External USB Sound Cards, Modems etc available could a external graphics card be a (expensive) probability ?

    Thanks

I'm fairly sure I heard of PCMCIA ones back in the day, though I wouldn't swear to it. IMHO, no external connectors have the bandwidth to do a graphics card justice.

Onboard memory is increasing because, I gather, they'd rather pull stuff from the faster onboard ram than across the AGP bus from main memory. Can you imagine the added latency of USB1/2.

    No joy I suspect, sorry.
