Terminator: Future Shock and Windows XP

Anybody got any idea how I can get the one to work with the other? Each time I try to run the T:FS install exe the screen goes completely black and I have to Alt-F4 out of it, the installer refusing to respond. I've found sites claiming that the game does run on XP, but there's no mention of the problem I'm having.

Which one is Future Shock? There are so many terrible Terminator games I lose track of which is which.

If it's the old Bethesda FPS (which was quite good at the time) then I don't think it runs under XP.

However, you can get it to run under DOSBox, as it had both Windows and DOS executables.

Future Shock was amazing for it's time. When the likes of Duke Nukem and Quake 1 was around, it was fantastic running around cities, fighting against the HK's and Robots. Try to get SkyNET though, because it ran in SVGA, and had multiplayer ;D

It's the Bethesda FPS, yeah - the first one.

That's how I remember it, too. The FPS levels were like a kind of proto-Deus Ex, in a way, with you given complete freedom of the city and able to get into pretty much any building you could see. Add in the brilliant fights in deserted hotels, the use of vehicles, the fact that it was, iirc, the first game to require you to use mouselook...

I was hoping to have a crack at it again, see if it's aged well or not.
