    Modded Pal PS2 50/60 Hz ?

    I have a question!

If i have a Pal Modded PS2 on a a PAL 50 HZ tv [doesn't run NTSC 60 HZ].Will it play JPN/US Games in full colour?

Even though it works with my DC and GC with the aid of boot discs and with [RGB].

Would it i get a Full screen, full colour picture?

    Thanks !

    Nope, B&W.

    The DC does PAL60.

Are you sure your TV can't do NTSC?

I know its a odd one!

But the i remember my J-NTSC Gamecube and N64 never working on this TV.And some games like VF4 and Conflict destert strom which had 60 Hz modes on the PS2.Were black and white.

I think i may have to invest in a new TV but i dont have much money...where could i find a decent sized NTSC TV from?

Thanks alot..i hope this info helps ya

lxdirect online have 20" Beko TV's that support NTSC at ?67 plus P&P (something like ?2.95 IIRC).

I bought one from them and it's great

If your Cube is working at 60Hz through the RGB socket, I'd be very surprised if it didn't take PS2 at 60Hz through there as well. Have you tried it with a PAL game? ALL PS2s output 60Hz as NTSC, in every mode. So if it works through RGB with a PAL game, it will work chipped running an NTSC one as well.

Your NTSC Gamecube and N64 won't have had RGB outputs on them unless you'd forked out a fair old whack, so you probably won't have tested them with that yet, only s-video or even composite.

What cable are you using to connect the PS2 to your TV?

I havn't got a modded PS2 yet...i'm asking before i brought one.I'm mainly buying it for Gradius V and other JPN only titles.

I did own a PAL PS2 before and i admit,i did use a Composite lead.I'm starting to think if i get an RGB lead for PAL modded system i should in threoy get a full screen colour picture.

I also remember having a JPN J-NTSC Sega Saturn and it worked full colour via a RGB lead. And my GC and DC both have proper 21 pin RGB leads and work import games fine...

              This always confuses me :S

So if i had a PAL modded PS2 with a RGB lead..it should work like or those other consoles in NTSC 60 HZ mode...right?
