Plus I always felt that a non chipped maching will last longer than a chipped one, imo remember.
You're entitled to opinion ofcourse but you are very much incorrect, fair enough if you have so much money you can import multiple machines but most people cant do that.

When you say chipped machines dont last as long you are referring to people who use their PS2s to play copies on poor quality media. If you use your PS2 to play original PS2 software there is no difference in operation at all.

In my personal experience the chipped mahcines dont last as long as a non chipped machine.

As far as I know the quality of installation was very good so who knows?, my mate had his PS2 chipped in the same shop and his is still going (on last legs right enough - doesnt read discs properly, freezing etc) but still going .

ive had a Chipped PS2 and a non chipped one and the non chipped died and the other is still going strong.

Also got a Playstation from 96 that is chipped and its still going strong.

i'm same got machines that are modified but that depends on how you treat them with good media or crap discs and whether copies are played on it and how often.

I have a very old Origa chip in my first model Jap PS2 that only plays originals -so import only chips are clearly possible. I have no interest in a chip that lets me play back ups.
