Guess Gradius is the more popular/better game by reading various reviews, but what do you all think, and do both of them have online ranking systems ?

Gradius V, by a mile. My review is up tonight. Compare the text/score for Gradius with R-Type Final (I agree with Duncan's review totally), and see the differences in game quality

I'm not sure about online rankings, but think so (for both). Japanese text not a problem. Only occurs when it subtitles the English voice actors into Japanese - everything else is English.Comment

Apparently the rankings page has some kind of competition and the closing date for entries is 31st August. One would hope it still gets updated after the competition ends...Comment

Givene the choice of the two, Id go with Gradius, and I adore R-Type. Review online soonish as mentioned above

r-type final was a dissapointment. the slowdown really does irritate and piss me off
gradius v would be mine even though i haven't got my hands on it yet. hopefully tommorow
