Hi all,
I started Onimusha 3 earlier yesterday, and all was going well, until I encountered an exceptionally annoying difficulty spike in one of the training missions you can take part in at the save points.
The part I'm having problems with is the advanced stage of the charged attack training mission, where you have to continually charge your sword, hit two huge ogres, and absorb 20 souls from them.
Now some of the problems I'm encountering are:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
a) The camera is too low for this particular mission, meaning when those big twats attack it's hard to gauge a proper depth of field to avoid them. For the sake of aesthetic concurrency, Capcom have decided to place a single static camera angle for every training mission. Bastards. (apologies for getting slightly off-topic).
b) The arena is too small to properly circle around these ogres and get out of the way before being hit.
c) They gang up on you too, meaning even when you block you eventually get hammered. I've also tried running away after striking, but they just strike out and you end up getting decked regardless.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Obviously none of these can be solved, what with being game flaws n'all, so I was hoping perhaps some of you Onimusha clued-up members could give me a few tips on how to pass this rather frustrating mission I've since locked myself in a battle of wills with. Due to these Ogres' size, I find it hard to charge, attack, then run or strafe. It doesn't help that it costs time to continually absorb the souls you need, meaning you open yourself up to attack in a very limited space. So far it's all been chance as to how many souls I've absorbed (can only seem to get it down to about 10) whilst staying alive.
So... Anyone have any handy tips for passing this mission?
I'm using the dual wielding Tenso swords by the way.
I know it isn't essential, but I've got myself into one of those stubborn situations where I refuse to move on in the game until I've got this sorted (I'm currently at the sewers about 2 hours in).
