Puzzle Pirates

Has anyone played Puzzle Pirates? I downloaded it last night as a bit of a laugh. I'm actually quite enjoying it but am a bit lost.

I spent a while messing around on the Sailing/Bilge puzzles. Then I found out that I couldn't spend any of my booty on what I wanted due to needing to subscribe. Also the sword fighting puzzle looked interesting but rather baffling to start with. I won the tutorial fight with ease but didn't have clue what was going on.

Has anyone else tried or still playing this game?

I tried it out a while ago when it was still in beta. It was a little confusing, but a lot of fun. I love the design and the whole idea of it.
