The search engine isn't being hugely helpful, so here's a new thread.
Thanks to the rather impressive thunderstorm going on, my friend's TV has just gone boom (nobody ever told her about unplugging everything, and her massive cabinet makes that a nightmare to do anyway). Since its actually my old TV anyway, she's come to me for help.
One phone call to the insurance company later, and a cheque for ?339.99 is in the post (a ?60 excess and the insurance company used the Dixons website as a priceguide).
So, given that we want another 28" widescreen CRT to replace the current one, what is the best bet? ?350 is ideally the budget limit, though, as that ?60 isn't just lying around. Need 2 Scarts, one RGB as a minimum, and plain-ol Nicam will be fine.
At first glance, This Tosh looks like a good bet.
Cheap as chips, but I don't know if LGs are any good.
