    Nope

The MD1 cable uses an offset type 8 pin Din plug.

Don't be trying to use a UK scart lead on your Saturn either - PAL ones won't work with Japanese games

Ouch - I have a lead on the way from Lik-Sang; what should I be using for Jpn games?

The UK AV SCART will not work on NTSC games on TVs that dont support it. But the UK RGB SCART lead is fine for all Sega Saturns as the AV pinout is the same on all models.

Doesn't the UK lead only have 9 pins on the scart block - as I've been told they won't work on Japanese machines despite offering RGB on PAL consoles.

You dont need to connect all 21 pins of the connector for an RGB image - for a Saturn (or most consoles) all that is connected is:

                  Red
                  Green
                  Blue
                  Composite Sync
                  Ground
                  Audio L
                  Audio R
+ voltage for channel and mode switch (Pin 8 and bridged to pin 16)
                  = 9 pins.

OK - so it breaks down like this; I have a PAL double switched Saturn - will the RGB lead I ordered from Lik-Sang be good for all games? Or do I need a back-up?

Any 1st or 3rd party RGB lead is fine for both PAL and NTSC.

All I know is that 9 pin Saturn scart leads won't work on Japanese machines - retailers that sell them list their RGB leads as PAL only or universal - the 20 pin leads will work on any machine - if your getting it from lik-sang it should be the right one, but 9 pin might not work - thats according to saturn-planet and VGI - I don't know the reason for this though
