Jap GBA SP battery charging in UK

I recently bought a GBA SP in japan for a friend, I searched the net on buying a voltage convertor to bring 240V down to 110V, I presume if I plugged the GBA into the wall here in the UK just using an adaptor plug the poor little GBA would fry...can anyone recommend me a good cheap step-up or step-down voltage convertor (not sure which one I need) and where to get it.

You don't need to. Just go to Game, HMV, or anywhere, and buy a new UK GBA charger - should be about ?5. It'll work fine with your Jap GBA, no step-down required. GBA hardware is all identical, the different chargers deal with the localised voltage differences.

You can just buy a UK power supply - about ?5-?6 in Game or somewhere like that.

YOu can use a UK Cube PSU for Jap/US Gamecubes as well.

XBox and PS2 import machines would require a transformer.

This is because Nintendo put their power transformers OUTSIDE the machine. Sony and M$ have made them internal. Power thingy blows... well it's far easier to fix in general with a Cube than a PS2 or Xbox now! Smart from Nintendo I guess...
