Sending custom soundtracks to Xbox without CD

I'd be interested to see if this is possible, I would think it would be...

All I want to do is send some custom soundtracks to my Xbox (it's chipped and networked etc) simply as it doesn't read some of my CDRs/RWs. I have a few tracks already on there from a normal retail CD, so if I find a folder which they're in by using an FTP program, could I simply send MP3's or whatever file format required to the same folder?

If it's possible, where would I put the audio files and what format do they need to be in?

yes you can use .mp3s to play on an Avalaunch dash, but it can get a little buggy when playing in the background.

I dont think games support the mp3 format though, the best thing to do is dload the "Xbox Soundtrack Ripper" and a free "Mp3 to Wav convertor" off the web and pass the converted files to your Xbox, I'll post the file location later 'cos it's buried somewhere deep in E or F drive and I'm at work now.

Only thing is I have a Mac, and the Xbox soundtrack ripper seems to be only for windows. Anyone know of Mac programs?

Also do I need both the soundtrack ripper and MP3/WAV converter or can I only do it with the latter?

      Thanks.
