    Norton Email protection

    Does anyone use this?

I've got two users on my XP PC. Both are admins. Both have their own Outlook. On one user, email protection works fine. On the other user (all same Outlook settings), when I try and enable the email protection service, it says "Norton Antivirus is unable to start email protection. Please ensure TCP/IP is installed and port 110 is available".

Any idea why this should work on one windows user and not the other?
I've google grouped this and stuff, but as far as I can make out it should work or not work on a PC. Not mess about being different on two user accounts. Heh.

    Any ideas?

Check your Firewall and perhaps install this Email thing again under the account that is fooked.

      It seems account independent dude.
Having spent all evening messing around with it, I finally realised that it is in fact completely useless. It just pops up if an email contain a virus. Whereas normal Norton would pop up if I was stupid enough to open an attachment with a virus. Turned the thing off and went to bed. Waste of an evening. Sorry to waste your time too. Bah.

Odd. It does sound like an incorrect registry setup/perms issue.

Of course I could of told you it was crap without even using it. Norton ****e...
