Recommend me a decent voice chat program...

A few years ago when I had a 56k modem, I used this ace voice chat software called Internet Phone 5 by Vocaltec.

Quite recently after upgrading to broadband, I was a little disappointed to find that that this ace piece of software is no longer supported anymore.

Can someone recommend me a decent voice chat program similiar to Internet Phone?

It allowed me to 'dial' random people around the world and talk to them in real time vocally using a microphone just as though you're talking on the telephone.

But on those ones don't you have to have the contacts already on your list to voice chat?

I'm after ones where you can find new random people from lists of different country to chat to...

Think ICQ and the like allow for random chatting? Been years since I used it though, don't know if it has Voice over IP.

You could try yahoo voice chatrooms (think IRC but where folk type and/or talk) and get to know random folk there.

The only one I've used is Skype. Its was excellent although without comparison I can't say whether it was better than anything else. It can also do video stuff too if you have a webcam which I didn't

Messenger and Yahoo have a whole stack of search pages with people who will randomly chat with you, who you just add to your list.
