    XBox import games on Live

I am thinking of getting an XBox, and would get it chipped, as i have with my PS2 to get import games, because, as we all know, the UK sucks.
Now I know you have to switch the Mod Chip off when on live to avoid being detected and banned, but can i switch the chip on and load the import game and then switch it off and play happily away online?

And also, does opening an XBox void the warranty like the PS2, if so are there any slide card type things for the XBox

what i would do is get the box chipped
use a program called config magic to set the eeprom of the box to whatever region your games will be from (in my case US) so then when you turn the chip off your box is set to us region and can play imports on live with no probs at all.

and next time use the search function of the forum as i'm sure there are a fair few topics like this already.

There are many topics on this but they all say different things. I've just read one where a guy said he was banned for connecting to Live with the EEPROM set to NTSC... and just yesterday I was told that would never happen.

Or you could get a SmartXX chip which lets you change region from the startup OS, much easier than messing with ConfigMagic although the chips are dearer than most.

Or you could wait for the Xecutor 3 which will have "on-the-fly" eeprom editing.

So, no you can't just load the game then turn the chip off.

So would this 'on the fly' editing be automatic, or would i have t do anything, because, although i thank you all for helping, i have no idea what any of you are talking about. Config what?

Its just a case of choosing an option on the menu screens at the start.
