Modifying consoles

Hi all,

Interested in learning how to modify consoles, and was wondering if anyone knew of any good websites that they recommend?

The best place to start is undoubtedly Gamesx. Although there are gaps of knowledge (the guy who writes it used to post on here, and explained how busy he was, and how hard it was to keep the info up to date), it's certainly the most comprehensive site for pinouts and mods, and the beginner's guides are very useful, too.

Usually sites that sell chips include pages online on how and where to solder them, and tips such as stuff to watch out for (like that PS2 ribbon cable). They seem to vanish and reappear under various site urls, but they show up on regular search engines.

What were you thinking of modding, Miyamoto? If you're just starting to learn, I'd recommend working on something cheap and easy to mod, like a PAL Megadrive1.
