    PS2 Infinity chip and S-Video?

I just had an Infinity 1.2 chip fitted into my US PS2. The thing's great direct boot on all region software.

    One problem.

I live in Japan and have been informed that PAL games will display fine through my PS2 on an NTSC TV with a fully wired SCART cable. Great!

    Except...

Japanese TV's don't have SCART, they almost all have S-video only and so any Euro games without a 60hz option don't work.

Anyone know of a way round this without resorting to a 100 quid + NTSC-PAL conversion box?

Stick with Japanese / American games as it will be cheaper, better and smoother.

Also you could get component cable for HDTV progressive Scan TV in Japan. This will give you better picture than RGB.

i don't think my TV has component cable input.

As for sticking with American and Japanese games I would if it weren't for the unplayed PAL copies of POP and Beyond good and Evil that are taunting me everyday, they don't have 60 hz do they? I can't see the screen properly to make it out. Also got a 3/4 finished GTA3 waiting to be finished, then there's that Wip3out SE.

At least my almost 100% Rez has a 60hz option I suppose.
