    iPod - USB/Firewire

    hi all.

i'm currently holding my friends (3rd gen 15GB) iPod at my house, as he wants me to put my iTunes library onto it.

now, here's the problem - i thought it'd have a USB connector as well as a firewire connector in the box. but it doesn't. how can i get around this? can i just buy a standard Firewire-USB adaptor?

(i'm sure i seen a topic about this earlier, but a quick search found nothing)

    thanks.

You either need to buy a new cable with a usb adapter or a firewire card. AFAIK there are no firewire > USB converters and it would probably be cheaper to buy a USB cable.

Buy a USB 2.0 cable to connect the iPod to the PC. Think they are about ?15

Or you can buy a firewire card for the same price. They transfer files a little faster and allow charging. Might as well upgrade to it and expand your computer's flexibility a little...

Interestingly, the new iPods come with a Firewire & USB cable as standard now. However the box design isn't as pretty and the clip on case isn't included anymore.

          Or the remote.....
And i agree about the design, even though i have just got one.
The all important battery life has been cured now aswell.

apologies for the premature question asking. i could've simply asked at an apple retailer. but i was being lazy.

got the usb/firewire cable for the ipod for ?20. i know a f/w card wouldn't worked out better value for money, but i really can't be bothered upgrading right now.
