Halo 2 Preorder - Amazon

I've just pre-ordered Halo 2 Limited Edition from Amazone hoping it'll be here for release day, but the estimated date is the day after, or the 13th.

How are Amazon with pre-orders usually, I can wait, but I would like to hope it'll be here on the 11th. I've seen other sites offering same day delivery as the release :/

Depends what delivery method you have used. Super Saver or their faster option?

With super save it normally takes about 5 days after release and the faster option is about a day delivery.

First Class, I assumed though most companies get it to you the same day..?

The delivery depends on what time they post it, i've preordered before and waited a couple of days for it to arrive.

On www.simplygames.com they say if you pre-order the game will be delivered on the release date. The only problem is they don't have the Limited Edition

I've ordered the LE edition from Amazon too... hopefully I'll get it before EVERYONE else knows the maps so I don't get pwn3d.

They usually ship on the day of release and even with their standard shipping to Ireland things only take 2 - 3 days so if you're in the UK and pick a quicker shipping option you should be fine.

This item will be released on November 11, 2004. You may order it now and we will dispatch it to you when we receive it from our supplier. Please note that release dates are subject to change.

Hopefully they're just being conservative with that dispatch time since Amazon will receive it well before the street date.

I'm placing my bets with GAME this time round. They've always got things to me either before or on street date so here's hoping.

Ordered the Ltd Edition from Amazon myself.

If it doesn't arrive on release day from them then what i plan to do is get a normal copy from Game on my way home from work and then return it under the 10 day policy as soon as the Ltd one arrives.

Best of both worlds that way.

I'm doing exactly the same thing except I know amazon will be late so I'll be heading down to game for the midnight launch to collect my copy then.

I pre-ordered it a while back. Amazon used to send things out on launch day but now they make sure you get it on launch day.

They have changed their ways, but only if you pay for postage.

What are Game like when ordering on the 'net? I'm debating between Amazon(much cheaper) and game :S

game are good. but i saved more money using amazon and getting fable at the same time.
