Best Racer on the PS2?

Bit late arrving to the PS2 so trying to catch up

Not really keen on the Gran Turismo Series but want a rally good racer to play..

I loved the Original Ridge Racer, I know that several sequals were made but never as good as the first


Is there anytyhing out there worth buying ?

Ridge Racer V is a must.

Initial D Special Stage is what I've played most and highly recommened it - I'm still bouncing back and forth between PS2 and arcade 3rd rev.

i would recommend for arcade thrills the same as above (RRV & Initial D)

+ Battle Gear 2/3 and Virtua Racing if you liked the original.

Theres also Wangan Midnight but ive never played it.
