I have a similar set up to the one in the top left of these diagrams. The only difference being that i bought the wireless router at the bottom left instead,so between the internet and the wireless router i have my old 4 port router, effectively changing the rj 11 into an ethernet.
At the X-Box end i have an unmodded one for Live and a modded one for ftp'ing etc...
So i turned on the Live X-Box and it said ' cant connect to Live, troubleshoot?' so i did and it went thru the 'cables found,ip address resolved etc etc...' business and it auto connected itself. Bingo!
I then swapped the ethernet that goes into the wireless bridge for the one from the modded x-box and i cant connect, and obviously i cant auto connect as Microsoft will get wise and ban the thing.
What im wondering is is the wireless bridge now set to the ip of the Live x-box,and so do they (the x-box's) both need to have the same ip?
Obviously im not going to have them both on at the same time, but that is all i can think of.
Thanks in advance for any help, hope im not waffling
    Cheers
    Nick

what do you want the modded xbox to connect to? you obviously don't want it on live, so i'm assuming you can't ftp to it anymore? besides, if you have the latest bios on your chip (if it's an xecuter2) then it'll fool the xbox into thinking there's no ethernet cable connected anyway (you can still ftp, use xbconnect etc)

i've noticed that in the xbox live settings there's a specific option for setting up a wireless ethernet adapter like what you have (the bridge bit) so it could be that the bridge can't just be plugged in and be expected to work, but i doubt that.

however, if it is an issue with ftp'ing, have you tried setting your xbox's ip using dhcp? if you're using evo-x, just go to settings and set 'use static ip' to No, and save the settings. reboot the xbox and go back to settings and see what the ip adress is and take it from there i guess

The problem is im trying to set the X-Box's ip to the same as the unmodded ones, which connects ok,as am i right in thinking the wireless bridge/gaming adapter is now set to the ip of the Live X-Box. If anyone is familiar with the Avalaunch dash how do you change the ip as i set it and when i then hit back to get to the reboot setting it has reverted to the old ip.

This is what i have at the x-Box end.
      Cheers.
