    jp games on us snes

i've got a us snes, my jp games collection is growing but i've not played any of them yet as i've not removed those 2 tabs inside the cartridge bay..

whats the best way of aproaching this?...

I used a combination of a soldering iron to melt the plastic and pliers to prise the bits off. This constitutes the first "mod" I ever did to a machine

It proved so popular I was asked to do the same thing to a couple of mates' US SNES to allow the same thing...

hehe.. well i was gonna use the butcher technique myself, just thought i'd check to see if there was a more cosmetically pleasing way of doing it

pliers and iron at the ready

        EEEeeasy!!!!

        WAIT!!!!

Take everything apart - case off etc.

Use a small hacksaw blade to make the cut instead, and finish it by trimming with a sharp craft knife and an abrasive pad suitable for plastic - it's well neat.

In truth Saurian, if I had the screwbit at the time, I would have done it your way, but didn't, hence the somewhat "crude" nature of the job

US SNES is secured by traditional Nintendo screwbit (the solid hex as I call it). You'll need something like this:

            to undo it properly...

By the way, Lik-Sang don't provide the screwdriver with the bit (unlike what it shows in the picture ), so you'll need to pop down to B&Q and get a driver that takes different bits.
