Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike Tips

Having just bought this off a kind forumite and knowing their are some people on this forum who are very proficient at the game, I would just like to ask if you have any tips with regards to how to get GOOD at this game.

Currently I can breeze through most of the Arcade mode (on 3* mind ) although hardly in a masterful way.

Any tips with regards to how and what to practice along with what I should focus on would be much appreciated by this OMfG n00b!!!!!!!111111111111111

    Cheers

It will help to an extent, but it's not individual movelists I'm after.

More tips on how to get BETTER at the game than anything else.

      Thanks Anyway

Playing on level8, practicing combos and parry training is the best you're going to get by yourself.

The only true way to become good is to get lots of experience playing people better than yourself.

          Ah right thanks.

Unfortunately I only know ONE person who also owns the game and he is also probably the only one willing to play games of the 2D variety ft:

That's more people than I know mate. Just keep playing against each other, at least he's human and not CPU.

Start off by learning how to parry each super move, then come back when that's done in a few years :P

                    Learn to parry, take risks.

I found the best way to do it is to beat the game with everyone (you can speed this up by setting time to minimum, damage to max, 1 round, easiest difficulty and just hope you can fluke it), so you can unlock Gill. Set timer to infinite. Then play as Gill and reduce your opponent's health to near nothing, then stop killing him and just try to parry everything he does. When you die, you should resurrect back to full health (the CPU is too dumb to knock you out of it), then you can repeat the process. Beat him when you're nearly dead the second time. In the second round, do the same but let your opponent beat you, so you can push it into a 3rd round. Then do the same again...

Do this for every opponent. Also, you can increase the rounds to best of 5 if you want more time.

If you keep spending lots of time parrying, eventually it will become second nature. Parry the supers as well. You'll miss a lot, but do it anyway.

The reason I suggest Gill is because he can heal himself so you can practice even longer. The other option is Elena with her healing super. In the DC version you can unlock special rules, and set supers to infinite. I think you should be able to do that in the PS2 ver as well. With that, you can just keep healing any time you need to with Elena.

Also, if you're learning to parry, don't start off with charging characters like Remy. It's harder to parry with those guys because you have to charge backwards. Save those for later.
