Dreamcast resetting itself problem

Dug out my DC recently to have a bash of some Soul Calibur whiles waiting for number 2 to arrive but have been having some problems with it. It just keeps switching crashing into a blank screen and occasionally resets after the blank screen. At first I though it was just a dirty laser and tried to clean it out with a CD cleaner cd but that didn't help. Will this mean that I'll have to get a new laser?
