Burnout 3 Important Question! (xbox)

Ive read somewhere that burnout 3 (xbox) does not allow people with alternate versions (ntsc and pal) to play together online, similar to what sega have done with their sports games . I dont know if this is true, but if it is then ill be really pissed off. It will mean that i wont be able to play with the majority of my friends list. I have an ntsc xbox you see which is great for importing games of course. But as for burnout 3 or any other online game for that matter, i definately dont want to be stuck playing random americans, the online would be nearly pointless from my point of view that was the case.

Could anyone clarify if this is true or not, i'd appreciate any input

Anyway the good news is with it set to PAL60 you can indeed play NTSC regions like the US and JPN. I was playing in a mates local server here in Sydney and we had one guy from Canada, one from Florida, one from Leeds in the UK and one from Japan as well... quite a cosmopolitan crowd to be honest!

There's a few games that don't allow you to play Americans (a few sports games i think) but everything i've played lets you play anyone.

Some of the ESPN games have to connect to servers and these are restricted by region. So if you have a US copy of the game, you will connect to the US server (even if you live in the UK). XBox PSO works this way as well.

AFAIK though, only Burnout 3 has the split between 50hz and 60hz players, although I'm expecting more EA games to follow suit
