I have a chipped Xbox, and recently asked here about connecting 2 Xbox's in the same household to Live. I may as well clarify that firstly we can both connect with zero problems, secondly we can voice chat and join in the same games as you would with anybody, and thirdly we can both play in the same games/different games or same game and different rooms etc, problem free. Finally one of us can even host and there's no slowdown, and it's only a 1mb connection.
Anyway, I have just realised the excellence of Halo system link. However I'm aware that 60hz makes the Pal version horribly jerky. I own the US version and my brother has the Pal version, and his isn't chipped, so I burned his pal copy to my Xbox and he plays off the CD. So in order to get a smooth game we both play in 50hz, which I can only select when I turn my Xbox into Pal mode using enigmah.
Now the explanation's over-if I switch on 60hz again after our Halo sessions, will my games run as fast/be as graphically smooth/good as running my console in NTSC mode? As obviously I can only have the 50/60hz option on the Xbox dash if I am in Pal mode.
Secondly, it seems to be that choosing a Pal/NTSC eeprom setting is different to changing the Xbox region with enigmah-is the eeprom setting for the game region, and enigmah for video?
And so is there a difference between playing a game in 60hz mode in PAL mode, and playing a game in NTSC mode on a chipped XBox?
