Connecting consoles to a computer monitor ?

Having just bought a shiny new computer it came with a 17inch lcd flat panel monitor. What i would like to know does anyone know of a way you can hook up a console. The monitor has a standard computer hook up on the back. I saw a few years back some knid of adapter but its too far back to remember where I saw it or how much it was. Any help would be much appreciated.

For the dreamcast, use a proper DC vga box for true 640x480 beauty.
