modded xboxs

*apologies if this is a band subject on here, if someone wanted to e-mail about the following that would be cool *

im considering investing in a modded xbox, but i know nothing about it. is it poss. to download games and store them on the HDD via some sort of software or is there a special DVD ROM i would need to have inserted?

i heard somewhere that microsoft can detect modded XBs and ban them from XB live? is there a way to get round this?

if there is anything else or any other advice anyone thinkes i should know about it would be greatly appreciated.

Further talk of downloading games will likely get you banned. You can transfer your original games which you already own to the Xbox hard drive using software, Id suggest you look at xbox-scene.com for further info on that, they have lots of guides etc on it also.

You can also get chips which you can disable so you can use Live as well as having a modified XBox, this has been discussed numerous times in here so Id advise you to run a search.
