    Set Firefox as MSN browser

I am using Firefox as my browser these days as IE is cack and adware ridden. However, despite it being my default, MSN messenger always uses IE when opening up any msn/hotmail pages. Where can I change this?

theres loads of MS stuff that doesn't easily allow changing of defaults - it might be hidden somewhere in the registry but I doubt it will be easy to find.

tbh I can't be arsed using FireFox anymore - IE has gotten a lot better since sp2 and plugins are a nightmare on FF (well last time (~0.6) I used it they were.

pff, you should check out FireFox PR1, you cannot comment on a beta from 3 or more months ago. FireFox is now what IE6 wishes it could ever be.

        SharkAttack - do this:

        In Firefox>Tools>Options>General>Set Default Browser.

Makes any program use Firefox rather than IE

I have never been able to get MSN Messenger to use anything other than IE. It just refuses to do it.

But everything else defaults to opera

That doesn't work, MSN emails still open in IE for me. I too would love how to do this, i hate IE with a passion.

You sure? Works for me. What FF you using? I'm on 0.8 - I prefer this one even to 1.0

Oh wait, sorry - you meant emails. Nah they open in IE for me too. Normal hyperlinks open in Firefox.

                Just use Outlook Express

I set Firefox as default in "Set programme and access defaults" and when I click on Hyperlinks in MSN Messenger they open in a new Firefox window each time.

                    I'm using version 1.0

There is a bug in the installer, it doesn't register the browser properly. You can download a registry file to fix it if you check around. Or you can do what Valken said.
