Getting japanese through all of Windows XP including notepad

I want to be able to read japanese text on my PC but it will only seem to show it in word and on internet site no other programs does anybody know how to change it.

Go to control panel, regional and language options, then click on languages tab. click the box where it says "install files for complex script etc".

Also go to the advanced tab and select Japanese for non-unicode programs. This should help you do anything in japanese on your computer.

still not working fully notepad's not showing the japanese

You have to change the font to a font that supports Japanese.

I can kind of read it using word at the mo.
