    Windows XP gone badonk

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA is the lovely welcome I get when I start up my server.

After scouring Technet, it appears this is apparently a hardware failure. So i've nicked some RAM, new CPU and graphics card from work, replaced them all, and it still dies.

Using boot-logging, it dies on loading AGP440.dll (or.sys, I can't remember off the top of my head).

However, before splashing out on a new server, I was wondering if it's worth re-installing XP on top, in case anyone else had this same problem.

U tried Safe Mode, looks like it could be a graphic driver problem judging by the DLL. Id try Safe mode, remove and reinstall (and update) the driver.

Sorry, didn't say that the same happens in safe mode.

        You tried re-installing motherboard drivers?

I've got this error a few times before a reinstall sorted it out.

It turned out I was overclocking to much and it was causing errors, but I doubt that applies to your server.

It's very hard to find motherboard drivers, this thing is ancient. P3 450 with 384MB RAM. I shall have a looky somewhere though.

I just attempted a recovery console repair, as per http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324764

and the same thing happened when trying to log into the recovery console

            /me eats Microsoft

You just installed SP2 by any chance?

Also have a look here: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324764

Start your computer from CD-ROM, and make sure that you select the drive that contains the Windows XP installation CD-ROM.
In the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, select R for repair, and then press ENTER.
Select the installation number for the problem installation.
Type the password for the administrator account of that installation, and then press ENTER. You receive a drive:WINDOWS> prompt, where drive is the drive on which Windows XP is installed.
Type listsvc, and then press ENTER.
Heh, I try to log into the recovery console and it goes FZZZT ZAP PING!

I guess a reinstall is all I can do... :\
