Having moved into my new flat and being in the process of transferring my broandband connection BT offered my a 1mg line - apparently I've moved nearer the switch thing (It's next door to me house)...............just wondering tho why would I need a 1mg line ??? I play mostly xbox live games and downlaod the occasional "film".....................any opinions ?

Faster downloads, more bandwidth is always nice!
Not to mention the regular BT price is ?27.99 for a 512k line where the 1meg is only ?29.99. For the sake of ?2 I'd take the 1meg line and not worry!
Also FYI you get double the download limit per month with the 1meg line too - 30gig as opposed to 15gig

Yeah, go for the 1meg. I got it a few months back and it's been excellent. Plus, BT have burstable uploads so if you're only next door to the exchange you could quite possibly host slightly more than most (a decent 12 Rainbow 6 server for example)Comment
