    DVDs, Audio and the PS2

    Hallo,

In my 'gaming den' upstairs I've got my PS2 & GC audio going into a Harmon/Kardon HK610 (stereo amp). From the audio outputs on the Argos SCART switcher. This setup works fine for games.

The problem is with DVDs, the audio seems washed out and missing detail, almost as though the PS2 is outputting most of the sound to a non-existent centre-channel...

I've got DTS turned off in the system settings. Anyone got any ideas? I don't watch many DVDs up there, but it's handy if my bird is watching Hollyoaks downstairs and I want to watch something else...

I'm going from memory here, so may be wrong, but if you put a DVD in the machine and stop it playing you should be able to access further audio options that don't appear without a disc in (I think)

Try it and in the audio menu make sure all digital options are off. Might help.
