Where can I buy a U.S. PS2?

Hi,
I'm new here, I'm also new to import gaming. In fact, I don't yet own an import playstation 2.

I was hoping some of the experts here could recommend a reliable internet retailer from which I could order a new U.S. playstation 2.

I would like to play Final Fantasy XI and Resident Evil Outbreak so I need to buy a PS2 soon before the hard drive model becomes obsolete.

If you have a look at at sticky thread in this folder called Chipping. Retailers & Services list there are a number of reliable companies in there.

Also I think that to use the hard drive you need a newer model PS2 so if buying off ebay/second hane just keep that in mind.

I ordered a ps2, which i got a free xenosaga, i also bought tombi 1&2 for ps1 and the first 2 .hack games and it came to about ?200 inc the shipping

I had to pay ?10 to Ups and 30 to customs at the same time, which wasn't too bad I thought

I have heard it said on other forums that if you email videogamesplus they will sort you out with one even though it says they only ship to Canada on their website.

Haven't tried it myself but it's worth an email as if it's true I would definately order of them, excellent company

Thanks for all the help. I've been surfing the net and I've discovered that most of the big Americain retailers seem to be out of stock of the hard drive PS2. I suspect they are waiting for the new slim PS2 to be released, before they restock.

Ebay seems to be the place to get a HDD PS2. Does anyone here know of a reliable Ebay trader that ships to the United Kingdom?

By the way, I checked the Chipping, Retailers & Services list. The Rage seems to be the only one that currently stocks the Ps2 I'm looking for. Are Rage reliable?

I really like www.gamestop.com, but I hate the idea of sending them a scan of my latest credit card statement. Are they trustworthy?

Sending a scan of your credit card is quite normal, I had to do the same when I bought my PS2 off Tronix - a superb company who, rather mystifyingly, seem to have stopped selling consoles some time ago

Excellent service and if you ask nicely they will mark the item down as a repair thus avoiding any taxes

Rage also asked me to scan my CC bill too.

It's disconcerting. And took days for them to verify it, which delayed my order.

Play-Asia didn't.

Ask a chap named Weinberg on the forums, he got me a nice brand new PS2. Top service
and his contact packaged the goods as second hand, thus avoiding any custom charges.
